Fancy going to a French restaurant to dine in this tropical country? Well, you can still find them by checking out this article below:
The place: A classy spot that overlooks Jalan P.Ramlee yet serves simple French fare at a reasonable price.
The food: At Mange Tout, the servers are friendly, the menu is easy to understand and the price won’t burn a whole in your pocket.
Moreover, there’s an extensive wine list and most of the bottles cost less than MYR 200. A good way to introduce yourself to the cuisine is to try the set lunches there.
The Pasta Set Lunch offers a pasta dish and soft drink for MYR 15 . But the one to try is the Provencal Set Lunch, which cost around MYR 38 . You can pick your starter from a trolley and the selection includes delicacies like succulent stuffed mushrooms, creamy soups served in shooter glasses, grilled zucchinis and eggplant drizzled with olive oil and baked slices of tomato topped with slivers of cheese.
For your main course, you can opt for either grilled sirloin steak served with sauté baby potato and mixed salad, or fresh pan fried sea bass served on a warm bed of ratatouille (a herb-scented mixture of eggplant, tomatoes, green peppers and onions cooked to perfection) and golden potato gnocchis. Simply waters your mouth.
As for the desert, you can spoil yourself with a slice of sinfully rich chocolate tart that isn’t overly sweet, and finish with either tea or coffee that’s brewed just right.
How it scored: Light, “clean-tasting” food that leaves you feeling good at the end of the meal makes this place a treat.
Where is it located: 18b, Jalan P.Ramlee, 50250 Kuala Lumpur. Tel: 603-2141 8005.
