1 day before departure to Mount KK
August 29th 2008 06:11
One day… oh my goodness… one day to go before I sit on the plane and head for the 20th highest mountain in the world… and here, sitting in front of my computer, staring at the MSN Weather forecast that challenges my faith more that good things are about to happen, because I started to see changes in the weather that Sunday there are promising fair weather coming… now only for 01 September – Monday, to have great fair weather throughout the day to make sure that the hike reaching the summit is successful.
It has been 5 days that I have lazed around, relaxing, shopping for my list-to-bring, and I realised that my body has started to get used to the non-taxing every 5:30am morning prayer power walk – this isn’t a good sign as my metabolism rate is going down and I need to keep myself active and ready for the coming Sunday’s first hike to the 1st camp of Mount Kinabalu.
And the readings from that doesn’t sound too good as I can see that my body is starting to lax and laze from the non-exercise status… I must start my brisk walk routine again when I return…
After a good stare at the weather for a whole 2 minutes, I have suddenly remembered that I haven’t done my full check list yet…. So here I am trying to look into my check list as stated below:
Travel Itinerary (Flight for me) MOST IMPORTANT
Small backpack (check – need to do some mending)
Backpack for porter to help me to get my things up (check – blessed lend from colleague)

So… that’s about it for the itinerary… it is all now with faith, determination and perseverance to reach to the first camp and to the summit.
I will do my best to take photos and do pray for me for good weather so that I can take thousands of photos to share with everyone. ^_^

No, unfortunately I only manage to reach the 1st camp Laban Rata as my left knee was too painful to carry on.
But to reach 3300m above sea level is a wonderful experience!
Do stay tuned to coming images soon!
Probably I will try again in a year / two.
Thanks for dropping by, and have a blessed day. ^_^
