McDonald’s Hotcakes – how good are they?

July 18th 2009 03:48
I must admit that I have not gone to McDonalds for months now, not to say that I don’t the food, but sometimes, it is just getting too expensive to purchase one decent meal from there, unless I am going for just a quick burger.

Recently I met my ex housemate and she told me that there was a new breakfast dish on the McDonald’s. I remembered back in the years I used to walk to McDonald’s for the breakfast set, Sausage McMuffins, for the sake of the Snoopy collection, but since then they have not come out with any new dish… But my ex housemate was laughing and teasing me that it has been there for quite a while.

That’s HOW LONG I have not visited McDonalds. *laughs*

With the opportunity of recent promotion where you get McDonald’s Hotcakes and coffee for about RM5 (instead of almost RM9), I took a quick trip to the nearest McDonalds (with WiFi access – supposedly … konon *sigh*) I went for the new dish (for me) with the discounted coupon. I could see lines and lines of people were queuing up for the hot dish (because of its limited time – 4am to 11am) and I managed to order mine right before they said “breakfast orders are closed!”

So here I am, sitting at the open air settee, staring at my 2 decent pieces of pancakes with butter and syrup.
2 piece McDonald's Hotcakes
2 piece McDonald's Hotcakes

I must say that though it doesn’t look much for a 2 piece of pancakes, the McDonald’s kitchen staffs managed to make 2 quite fluffy pancakes. Delicious as my ex housemate mentioned (she says it’s like Heaven to her), it does easily soaks in the butter and syrup because of it’s fluffiness. And by the time I finished the 1st piece and half way through the 2nd piece, I felt really full…. So, small eaters can actually share this portion and because you can’t really stuff in more of it with the wholesome flavour of the pancakes.

If you ask me whether I might go for hotcakes again? I might, if I can grab a friend along or I am going to sit in McDonald’s the whole day eating and writing with my notebook. Hahahahaha….

There goes my experience for this morning. Have a blessed day!

ps: I might take the set of plastic fork and knife home, they are pretty useful for little kids or travelling.

I usually sneer at McDonalds, but I have to say these hotcakes look and sound lovely. Mmmmm Maybe! But I live 25km away from McDonalds perhaps when/if I start studying next month?

We'll see.
