Malaysia will hear it's people voices soon in March
February 27th 2008 10:02
Ok, I know that I have not been working hard posting articles in Orble... and though I have less than 5 hours to sleep everyday but that doesn't excuse me from not writing at all.
The harder part is to find something to write... that is.
From the hazy days, to heat wave for 2 weeks. Now I am sitting in front of my PC not able to return home because of a sudden thunder storm. Will the upcoming elections 2008 for Malaysia be as temperamental as the weather in Kuala Lumpur these days?
Before the day the Prime Minister announced that the Parliament will be dismissed on February 18, many have already speculated when the election is about to happen, and why it has to be done out of political reasons, and what will happen next.
True enough right after Chinese New Year the news of the Parliament dismissal was announced and usually the election will take place in 30 days. But never in the nations speculations that it is to happen less than 3 weeks. There goes the havoc of filling up the forms as a candidate and campaigning it effectively. The irony part is it is such a rush that some candidates forgot to fill in their names at the ballot application form and ended up forfeited from the competition giving the opponent a non-compete win.
When I heard the news I was like... "what?"
Not only that. After the 50 years of nationhood celebration, Malaysia has another new breaking record in the 12th General Election, which is a 89 year old lady applied as an independent candidate, not only she isn't joking, she has been visiting her neighbours in the village to pull some ballot points. She even talked to the reporters what she would like to see changes in Malaysia if she is elected.
A good example would be the "close-one-eye minister" case. See the readings here
It's never too late, true it is.
Some good part of it is this time there should have a list of fresh faces running for the competition for the seats as many of the less effective ministers were forfeited from the race because of non satisfied services to the public as a representative.
I will try to dig some news about the election so that everyone can see what it is going to happen. Though oppositions tried very much to convince the nation that change should happen this time but the government seemed to have a strategy to counter fight back and retain their seats.
Will Malaysia finally establish a government that hears the people's voices? Let's hope so.
