This month’s issue is an interesting collection, where it talks about one of Malaysia most fond annual sports held in the Island of Penang, Malaysia – The dragon boat race.

How did the dragon boat race used to coincide with the dumpling festival where it once represented the villagers raced for time in search of the body of the honoured stateman Qu-Yuan who committed suicide in the Miluo River

Malaysia’s First Day Cover 10 June 2008: Cultural Instruments & Artefacts

Moving house is never an easy job, moreover moving an office. Finally we manage to get things settled and I managed to check out the new office’s surroundings, realising that there is a post office within the square, so I took a chance to visit the post office of the new area for this month’s first day cover.

To my relief, it wasn’t as packed as the old post office, and I mange to get 2 full sets of first day cover issues along with its brochure. This has finally started as a good day for me – after the chaotic moving and settling down the office system

Today I have failed to get the first day cover collection as it was sold out (except just a few sheets of 30sen stamps). I couldn't even get the envelops of the First Day collection. That was rather disappointing as I was only 40 minutes late.

I suppose it was in conjunction of the Earth Day, I believe many have bought it for educational purposes for schools or just for the sake of personal collection as the design this term was exceptionally nice

Malaysia’s First Day Cover 13 March 2008: Nocturnal Animals

This month’s issue isn’t my utmost favourite series (Don't get me wrong, I still like them, just not the utmost favourite) – the Nocturnal Animals, When I saw part of the designs were an owl I was hoping one of the stamps would have consist of it, but it didn’t. Though a little disappointed but that doesn’t stop my target of trying to get all the First Day Cover series for this year.

As usual, I went to the post office… and with God’s grace there isn’t much traffic today. I only have to wait for 6 people before me and I manage to get everything done within 30 minutes (including 5 minutes walking to the post office). That is quite a good record of time
