Bukit Lembing / Panorama – A hill that for hiking lovers

Pahang – one of the largest states in Peninsular Malaysia lays one of the famous hills for beginner hikers, or for those who just love the summit of every top of the world.
The last time I went to almost at the top of the hill was just Bukit Kledang, another famous hill for locals to have their daily power-walk exercise regardless of age. Those hills were a little easier as most of them are now built with tar roads, allowing locals and visitors to have an easier way up to the top for a breath taking view.
But for this hill, the steed steps remained for hikers and locals for their daily challenge, and it is also a great place to view the nearby Titiwangsa terrain with its beautiful landscape view with the clouds floating below the summit in the morning. Hikers doesn’t really get to see nice flowers along the way but when you reach the first rest stop you already could see how far you manage to achieve; and with just another 100 metres away you could have been par with the half-formed clouds floating around.
This hill is famous for it’s beautiful sunrise where you can see the jet orange ray spread across the entire horizon. Hikers also like to reach the top in the evening and camp for the night so that they can capture the beautiful sunrise. Others who want the morning challenge will start their hiking trip at 5am from the foot of the hill.
The average time reaching the top is about 30 – 60 minutes, depending on your stamina. 50% of the tip covers man-made steps and others were rough roads going up. There will be some railings in the middle, splitting the stairs for going up and down when it gets really steed. It took me about 35 minutes to get up with my limited stamina but when you reach the top it is a view that will not disappoint you, whether it is a cloudy day or the sky is clear for you.
At the foot of the hill lies a little town were the early market is always there for locals to do their regular shopping after a good climb, with variety food stalls with affordable prices to fill your hungry stomach.
How to get there:
It is about an hour drive from Kuantan (city center of Pahang) to the highway, looking at the sign of “Sg Lembing”. I didn’t know exactly how to get there as my group almost got lost early in the morning, trying to find our way there.
To see the sun rise but not camping there:
Be sure that you wake up at about 3am – 3.30am to get ready if you are staying over in the main city, Kuantan. You must reach the foot of the hill by 5am in order for you to have a slower leisure hike up to the summit.
What you need to bring along:
Torchlight, raincoat, or a windbreaker. You will not need your windbreaker during hiking upwards as your body is all pump up with energy and heat with all the stairs to climb. Raincoat is handy if you are encountering a cloudy day.
A small water bottle and a snack bar would be great for you to replenish your lost energy along the way up, but don’t bring a big bottle of water as you will be busy hiking up the stairs and sipping little water.
Optional:
It is good to use hiking boots, as some of the slopes are steep. But many locals also use normal sport shoes to for hiking.
If you are sensitive from insect bites, remember to get some mosquito repellent spray (or lotion) that is suitable for your skin.
If you love singing, it will be a great challenge for you to reach the top and sing your heart out. A guarantee satisfaction.

I am not very sure how high it is, But I think the height is about 600 - 800m.
It is easier to see the clouds floating below the summit before they form into full-formed clouds.
But sometimes you can see them if they are rather heavy on a cloudy day.
